@pakazmir here to report that a week later, MY new modem stops working. No reason. Time-Warner will be happy to come out in 6 days. Magically it starts working again 5 hours later. I get home from work, check the log – guess what, it lost signal or was told to reboot remotely (it’s not 100% clear which). Neither of which is the fault of my modem or wiring. A big FU to TW.

Well, I’m about to experience the joy, as my iphones are on order now. I’m *having* to keep my home phone and cell phones seperate or I’ll lose the corporate discount I have on the cell phones. So I guess I don’t want there to be a single bill/portal.

That said, how stupid is it that I can’t combine them and keep my discount? And other stupidities in ordering the cell phones:
* I couldn’t port both of our existing phone numbers; I have to wait until I get the phones to port the second one.
* I couldn’t order on the phone, because they are only allowed to sell *1* iphone per order on the phone. WTF? I got *2* freaking phone lines! It’s not like I’m buying 30 iphones and selling them on eBay!

Sigh.

Big companies suck, is the bottom line. There comes a point where the company gets too big for its own good; usually it’s about the time that it splits into multiple “business units” IMO.

This is a growing problem with *all* software, but especially games. GA today == Beta 10 years ago. “Good enough” testing is rampant, and users pay the price. Practically no software is really “good” until that magical “service release 1.” Sad, really. Does anyone know of a company that isn’t following this rule?
